Condo in Moab November 7

It’s a beautiful November at the condo in Moab.  We are experiencing sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s making for a very pleasant time. While it is getting chilly at night, this is a great time of year to enjoy Arches and Canyonlands National Parks without the usual crowds.

There are still some dates available at the condo in Moab, although we are seeing more bookings this November than last year. It looks like the weather is going to be pretty nice the next couple of weeks. So, with the sun at a low angle in the sky it makes for beautiful photographs and brilliant colors in red rock country.

When visiting Moab this time of year it’s important to bring clothing that you can wear in layers. The temperature will vary by as much as 40° each day starting off cool in the morning and warming up quickly after 9 AM. However, the red rocks don’t hold hardly any heat this time of year. So, things tend to get rather brisk as we approach sunset. Having turned back the clocks last week it is now getting dark much earlier.

Photographers visiting this part of the world will want to take advantage of the excellent light at dawn and sunset. You don’t have to worry about wrestling with other people to get a good spot at your favorite viewpoint in November. And one of the best things about shooting pictures in Arches National Park this time of year is having no people in your photos. There is just something really special about having pictures of these beautiful arches in their natural state without a bunch of tourists mucking up the view.

In about one month, some of the local shops and restaurants will be closing for the winter season. While the really big restaurants and retail stores remain open, most of the smaller places take a hiatus until mid to late February.

Moab Condo Rental Info

October is wonderful at the Moab condo rental and a great time to visit both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.   The daytime temperatures are in the 60s and 70s.  And you’ll find abundant sunshine! This is one of the most pleasant times of the year to enjoy the beautiful red rock scenery and do some hiking or mountain biking.

When you’re looking for a Moab condo rental one of the primary things to consider is having enough room to store all of your recreational gear. We purposely built this three bedroom, 2.5 bath condo with an oversized two-car garage to accommodate mountain bikes, trekking gear, climbing stuff and all your other outdoor recreational toys.

There is plenty of room in the driveway to hose off your four-wheel-drive, ATVs or mountain bikes after a day of enjoyment in the wilderness. It’s amazing how much dust and dirt can accumulate from just one trip to the backcountry. There is a separate batch of towels that are dark brown which can be used to dry off your gear after you have washed it. We know when you come to our Moab condo rental that things are going to get dirty.  It’s just part of having fun in red rock country!

The restaurants can be really crowded this time of year. You’ll find a fully outfitted kitchen at the Moab condo rental.  So you can prepare all of your meals and enjoy them either at the dining table or outdoors on the patio. We make sure to provide a wide variety of spices so you can whip up your favorite dishes. If there is anything missing from the kitchen please let us know. We pride ourselves on having a well-equipped place for all of our guests.

We are seeing more bookings this year in November which is great because it’s normally a pretty quiet month. One of the reasons we personally like to come in November is the lack of crowds and the low angle of the sun which brings out the brilliant colors in the red rocks.

Moab condo rental update

Autumn is one of the nicest times of the year to enjoy our Moab condo rental.  The summer heat is dissipated but you still get lots of daylight.  On weekdays it’s not very crowded although you might run into bottlenecks at the entrance to Arches National Park between 9 AM and 3 PM.

We like to arrive at Arches early in the day preferably between 7 and 8 in the morning.  The sun is at a low angle which makes the colors in the rocks that much more brilliant.  You are also ahead of the traffic and can park pretty much anywhere.  If you want to do a day hike you can save that for after you have visited some of the other turnouts and overlooks.

One of the great things about Arches is that you can get a lot of really good views right off the road.  Anyone who is elderly or disabled can still enjoy most of the beautiful natural rock formations.  Be aware that many of the turnouts and parking areas are fairly small.  Not all of them can easily accommodate the larger recreational vehicles.

One of our favorite short hikes that Arches is in what is called the Windows section.  The North and South Windows are quite majestic and easily accessible.  We recommend that you always wear closed toed shoes or hiking boots when walking in the park.  Sneakers or trail runners are fine but flip-flops and sandals will probably result in smashed toes somewhere along the way.

There is still good availability for the Moab condo rental in November.  While the days are shorter and it can be a bit chilly you can pretty much have the scenery to yourself.  Also, with the sun drop even lower in the sky the colors are at their most beautiful.  And another positive benefit, you won’t have other people in your pictures just the amazing red rock scenery!

Moab Lodging at the Condo

There are many choices for Moab lodging from renting tent and trailer space all the way up to luxury hotels.  Vacation rentals come in all different shapes and sizes including condos and single-family homes with varying amenities.  When choosing a property, price is not always the primary consideration.  Having enough space for your recreational toys such as four-wheel-drive vehicles, ATVs, mountain bikes, golf clubs, rafting equipment, kayaks, etc. is very important.

Most of the Moab lodging that is available provides little to no space for the above-mentioned recreational toys.  This is a major problem especially for people traveling long distances to Moab for their vacation.  Additional parking and storage space is not readily available or necessarily easily accessible at most of the Moab lodging accomodations.

One of the great things about the condo in Moab is that you get an oversized two-car garage.  This allows you to park 2 SUVs plus still have plenty of room for mountain bikes and other things.  The complex also has ample outside parking so you can leave one vehicle outside and pack even more stuff into the garage.

Inside the garage is a utility room with a full size washer and dryer.  We purposely installed extra large machines since the condo sleeps 6 people.  There is plenty of room for everyone stretch out and each bedroom has its own TV set.  The wireless network is super high speed and sure to please all the Web surfers in your group.

Prices for Moab lodging will vary throughout the year depending on supply and demand.  The least expensive time to stay at the condo in Moab is December and January.  While both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks remain open, there tends to be snow on the ground.  This can somewhat limit hiking and mountain biking opportunities.

On the other hand, there are hardly any visitors that time of year.  So you can go to dramatic overlooks and have them entirely to yourself sometimes.  The days are shorter.  But the sun is also at a much lower angle in the sky making the colors in the red rocks even more brilliant!

Moab Condo Blog

It’s beautiful autumn weather as we write the Moab condo blog this week.  September is a great time to visit Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.  The summer heat is taking a reprieve and you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery without a parasol.  While we do see a bit more visitor activity in September and October it’s still a very pleasant time of year.

Water levels are dropping which means river rafting can be touch and go as we get deeper into autumn.  Be sure to check with the local rafting companies for the latest up-to-date information.  Considering the monster big snow year that we had last winter it’s nice to see tamer rapids in the canyons.  However, you still need to wear a life vest and be careful whenever you are taking on any of the rivers in canyon country.

Reviews for the Moab condo have all been five-star and we appreciate the nice compliments from our guests.  If you are staying at the condo and you notice anything that needs attention please contact Makenna’s right away.  They do a great job of managing the Moab condo and will promptly fix anything that’s not up to snuff.

If you’re interested in renting the Moab condo, you can Click Here to Check Availability.

When you go shopping at the City Market make sure you bring the discount card that is attached to one set of keys.  We’ve noticed average savings of between 10% and 25% of our total grocery bill almost every trip to the store.  Make sure you check out the deli counter where you can get a large tasty sandwich at a very reasonable price.  They also have lots of delicious side dishes and a full bakery for your sweet tooth.

The store went through a major overhaul during the past year.  If you visit Moab on an annual basis you might have a little bit of trouble finding things on your fisst trip through the aisles.  Not to worry, the new store is a breeze once you get to learn it.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s Moab condo blog!

Moab Condo Rental 8/24/19

As we enter the last week of August it’s still pretty hot in the Moab area.  But autumn is just a few weeks away and that brings quite a bit of relief on the thermometer.  The Moab condo rental is still available for Labor Day weekend.  However, overall the month of September is about two thirds booked as of this writing.

Both September and October are prime times to visit Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.  You can still enjoy nice sunny days and pleasantly warm temperatures without the scorching heat of the summer months.  Also, the crowds tend to be a bit less than what you would encounter in May and June.

The Moab condo rental comes equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday.  You’ll find a good-sized kitchen with all the necessary cookware and small appliances.  Coffee maker, toaster, microwave, 5 burner stove and a large oversized oven in case you’re thinking of roasting a giant turkey.

It looks like the final phase of construction at Rim Village Vistas will be completed in 2020 or 2021.  The remaining units are selling quickly.  If you have any interest in purchasing a condo in the complex please contact me and I will put you in touch with the broker/developer.

One of the great things about the Moab condo rental is the floor plan.  The open and spacious downstairs level contains living, kitchen and dining areas along with the powder room.  You have direct access into the kitchen from the garage which makes unloading groceries very easy.

Upstairs the front half of the condo is where you will find a generously sized master suite with vaulted ceiling.  The sliding glass door leading to the balcony provides a fantastic view of the mountains and red rock scenery.  There are 3 closets in the master suite providing plenty of storage space for all of your clothes and vacation accessories.

Heading down the hall you’ll find the other 2 guest bedrooms.  One has a queen size bed and the other 2 twin beds.  At the far end of the hall is the guest bathroom.  All of the bedrooms have nice views of the mountains and/or red rock scenery.  Come enjoy the Moab vacation rental, you can Click Here to Check Availability.

Moab Vacation Rental Blog

Things are pretty quiet this week at our Moab vacation rental.  Sizzling summer temperatures keep a lid on the crowds during the month of August.  Even if you love to go river rafting the heat in the canyons can be really intense.  While it can feel great jumping in the water, you can still get dehydrated pretty quickly while floating in the raft.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms the next few days.  This means the potential for flash flooding if you are in the canyons.  Otherwise it’s just going to be hot, hot, hot.  Daytime temperatures over 100° with nighttime’s only getting down to the high 60s or low 70s.  This means balmy evenings to enjoy outdoors on the patio at the Moab vacation rental.

The complex where the condo is located is going through his final phase of expansion.  It looks like phase 7 will be completed during the next 24 months.  Sales of new condos have been moving along rather swiftly.  If you’d like to own a condo in Moab get in touch with me and I will connect you to the broker handling the project.

There are a number of different ways to get to the Moab vacation rental.  If you live more than 5 or 6 hours away driving time you may wish to consider flying into either the Moab or Grand Junction airports.  You could rent a car and save yourself a lot of travel time.  It’s less than 2 hours from Grand Junction to Moab.  And the airport is located about 1.5 miles from the interstate on-ramp.

Planes do not operate into Moab all year-round.  It can be too hot in the summer or too cold and icy in the winter.  However during the peak spring and fall seasons there is generally regular service via Denver and / or Salt Lake City.  Flight schedules change each year and it’s possible that other airports might be added with connections to Moab.

Condo In Moab In August

The annual summer monsoon has been making occasional visits to the condo in Moab recently.  Expect thunderstorms on and off the next several afternoons along with daytime temperatures approaching 100°.  This is typical for this time of year.  So, it’s best to get an early start in the morning to make the most of your outdoor activities.

Photographers know that the best light is usually early or late in the day.  With sunrise being at a little bit more reasonable time now, you can capture those morning photos of the brilliant red rocks.  Once the sun moves high in the sky after 9 AM the colors start to wash out a little bit.

Sunset photos are great!  But if we get afternoon thunderstorms you may or may not get dramatic colors.  Mother nature can be very fickle.  While the monsoonal moisture and attendant drop in temperature is a welcome relief from triple digit weather, the dark clouds can mask whar would have otherwise been a brilliant sunset.

We are just entering the start of the Perseid meteor shower which is expected to peak around August 12 or 13.  If you go just South of town away from the ambient light you should be able to get a good view of meteors streaking across the sky.  From the condo in Moab head south on the highway for about 10 minutes to escape the local ambient light.  The best hours to view meteors are between midnight and 4 AM when the sky is the darkest.  Make sure you are dressed warmly as desert night time temps can drop significantly, especially under clear skies.

Bookings for the condo in Moab are looking good in September with only a handful of openings.  Labor Day weekend is still available so you may wish to click the link at the start of this paragraph if you’re interested in booking the condo in Moab for those dates.

The hot summer weather continues at the condo in Moab.  Daytime temperatures are around 100°F and there are occasional thunderstorms especially up in the mountains.  It’s important to keep an eye on the sky this time of year.  Remember, flash floods can occur even if the sky where you are standing is clear and blue.  Rainstorms as much is 40 miles away that you cannot see or hear can trigger flash flooding in both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

River rafting is one of the primary forms of recreation this time of year.  There are lots of different rafting companies that can take you on trips from one day to 3 weeks.  Some of the more popular trips take place at various spots along the Colorado River.  However, there are portions of the Green River that are suitable for rafting.

We highly recommend that visitors to the area take a guided raft trip.  Until you become familiar with the changing water levels, rapids and nuances of the canyons it’s much better to have a professional guide on board.

Bookings for the condo in Moab are filling up for September and October.  If you don’t mind the shorter days and cooler weather November is a great time to visit Moab.  All of the shops and restaurants are still open.  And there are far fewer visitors to the national parks.  The sun is at a much lower angle in the sky which makes the colors in the red rocks even more brilliant.

Once we get the first snow of the year (usually late November or early December) many of the shops and restaurants in town close for a few months during winter.  Some of the shopkeepers are avid skiers while other business owners head for Mexico or the Caribbean.  The town is pretty quiet from December through late February.  So, visiting in November gives you the opportunity to avoid the crowds but still enjoy the local sights and great food!

Moab Condo Update 7/15/19

We are experiencing the typical mid-summer heat at the Moab condo.  Daytime temperatures can easily reach 100°F this time of year.  The lows at night are only dropping into the high 60s or low 70s.  So it's very important for everyone to drink lots of water and stay hydrated.  The wind has been kicking up recently which has resulted in the latest advisory from the National Weather Service below:
“The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red

Flag Warning below 7000 feet for wind and low relative humidity,

which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Tuesday. A Red Flag

Warning has also been issued from noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. The

Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Fire Weather Zone 490 Colorado River Basin below 7000 feet.

the afternoon and evening, both Tuesday and Wednesday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…6 to 11 percent each day.

* IMPACTS…Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition,

growth, and spread of fires. Agricultural burning is strongly

  discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions

are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of

strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can

contribute to extreme fire behavior.”

Bookings at the Moab condo are starting to fill up for both September and October.  You may wish to consider visiting Canyonlands and Arches National Parks during early or mid November.  The temperatures are cooler and the low angle of the sun really brings out the beautiful colors in the red rocks and surrounding mountains.

We generally don’t see snow until late November or early December.  And you won’t find a lot of people at these national parks in November.  This means you get to enjoy all of the beautiful overlooks and hiking trails in a more pristine setting. You also won’t have to look for a parking space or wait in line at the entrance station.

If you are thinking of planning a trip next year now is a good time to lock in your reservations especially if you want to visit in April or May.  The Moab condo was booked almost every day during those 2 months.
